An exceptional evening for SKEMA Alumni London

10 April 2018 Events

For more than 60 alumni, the SKEMA Alumni UK Prestige Event held on 21 March 2018 was a perfect opportunity to reconnect with their network, make new contacts and friends, increase the community’s visibility and (re)discover the power of the SKEMA network in the English capital! With some 1,000 alumni and three events held annually, the SKEMA Alumni UK network is one of the most active country-specific clubs.

Greeted by the SKEMA Alumni team and our ambassadors Emmanuelle Pfaff (SK'2009) and Amélie Willemet (SK'2014), the alumni and guests gathered in the prestigious setting provided by the Royal Society − independent scientific academy of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth of Nations, dedicated to promoting excellence in science – for this second SKEMA Alumni UK Prestige Event (the first was held in 2015).

Anne-Sophie Duchamp, General Manager of SKEMA Alumni, opened the evening by going over some key figures and reminding everyone of the power of the SKEMA network, before handing the floor to Alice Guilhon, Dean of SKEMA Business School, who talked about the many changes the school has undergone since the merger. She also appealed to the alumni to contribute to the future development of the SKEMA brand and to continue to raise its profile. It was a rousing speech that once again highlighted SKEMA’s successes as well as the power and the opportunities that a network such as ours now offers

It was a wonderful evening of networking during which participants caught up with old friends, made new ones, and shared stories and new opportunities:

"I’m newly arrived in London and I immediately felt welcome and included at the Prestige Event thanks to the SKEMA Alumni London community’s spirit of sharing. It was a wonderful opportunity to meet people and socialise in this active city. Alice Guilhon made the trip especially to remind us just how much our school is developing and that we should be proud of what it represents today. Some may have finished their studies a long time ago, but it’s great to be reminded of what we share and what makes us a unique community." Jade Davin (SK'2009), Marketing Coordinator EMEA at Entertainment One UK

"The event was an excellent opportunity to meet and chat with the school’s management team and those in charge of the SKEMA Alumni network, who had made the trip especially. We got to learn a little more about the school’s future activities and plans, thanks in particular to the presence of Alice Guilhon, who gave a speech filled with ambition and positive messages for the alumni and students in attendance on the night!" Amine Aït-Si-Selmi (SK'2010), EMEA Client Development Lead for Panorama at McKinsey & Company, and SKEMA Alumni UK ambassador from 2013 to 2017

"An excellent evening in a magnificent setting. I really appreciated being able to talk to alumni from different years and with SKEMA management, including Alice Guilhon, to find out more about the school’s strategy and plans. It’s come a long way since the merger! It made me really proud of my school and I will gladly participate in the next events organised." Cécile Michel (SK'2012), Credit Analyst Private Placement at MetLife
