Review of the traditional outdoor event in Singapore!

22 October 2018 Events

The SKEMA Alumni Singapore ambassadors were thrilled to welcome the SKEMA alumni to their traditional “back from summer break” pétanque event held on Saturday 29 September 2018! Though the concept remained the same, the venue was different this time. In a summery atmosphere, some twenty participants got together at the new Picotin, in Joo Chiat, to celebrate the start of the 2018-2019 academic year around a friendly buffet! (photo album)

Among the familiar faces, we had the pleasure of catching up with Thomas Cottin (SK 2012). After spending a few years in Singapore, Thomas now works in Paris. A work trip that fell just at the right time gave him a chance to touch base with the SKEMA Alumni community in Singapore: “I lived in Singapore for 5 years, so this was a chance for me to see old classmates and friends. This event in Joo Chiat was a great success and nothing beats a game of pétanque for catching up and chatting about topics like ecology, travel, the multicultural teams at work, and memories from our school days.

Thanks to the SKEMA Alumni Singapore team for organising it!"

We also got to meet XiaoHui (Judy) Liu, an MBA graduate from 2007 who has just moved to Singapore after 8 years in China as a Wealth Manager at UBS, and Amalia Zapata-Sossa (SK 2011), who was attending a SKEMA Alumni Singapore event for the first time. Amalia has been living in Singapore for 3 years and is seeking new career opportunities in project management.

We welcome them and hope to see you all at the next SKEMA Alumni Singapore event!
