Happy 20th anniversary to the Class of 1999 in Sophia Antipolis!

25 June 2019 Events

It’s 20 years already since the Class of 1999 left our school with a head full of memories, including class slogans like: "la réussite ça se prépare!" (Success requires preparation!)

This 20-year anniversary, celebrated on 22 June 2019 on the Sophia campus, was an opportunity for 35 alumni to rediscover SKEMA and catch up with old friends. A big thank you to Virginie Droit, the class ambassador, who went to a lot of effort to organise this reunion.

"We’d like to come back to school so we can change campuses and countries every semester too! It’s great to see that these days students are continuing to build strong bonds!, but a little differently to us back in our day, especially in terms of the majors, the international experiences and the campuses that bring them together. THANK YOU! We all had a fantastic weekend! We couldn’t believe how much fun we were having and how magical it was to catch up with everyone. Things really flowed between us all, as if time had stood still!
The school spirit is really there, it’s stayed very strong without us realising it and it resurfaced in a flash!”. Virginie

The entire class would also like to warmly thank Michel Bernasconi, Emeritus Professor at SKEMA and Vice President of student entrepreneurship at Université Côte d’Azur, who came to share the school’s latest announcements (campus openings, changes to the strategy and governance) and a few anecdotes from “the good old days”.

"It’s great to see that our school is doing so well and that plans are flourishing. It makes me proud to be part of the SKEMA adventure. Sometimes you lose touch a bit with the school, but not the people you went to school with: my son’s godfather is a SKEMA alumni.” Delphine

The programme: Sophia-Antipolis campus visit and reacquaintance with the amphitheatre, dinner at La Siesta and Sunday lunch on the beach at Le Ruban Bleu. “We would’ve loved to have been able to slow time down a little longer...” Plus, of course, for a few hours they got to walk on the same ground as when they were students, a moment that will remain just as memorable for them as it was for the candidates who'd come to sit the SKEMA entrance exam that day. And let’s not forget their little jaunt to Villa Ilette as surprise guests (big thanks to the students for their hospitality which took us right back 20 years!).

Happy Anniversary to the PGE Class of 99 (which is already planning to meet up again in Toulouse in 2020!)
