Two new ambassadors in London. Welcome Keren Malca and Laura Bru (SK 2017)

04 March 2020 Course

With 222 alumni now in London, we’re happy to be welcoming two new ambassadors who’ll be running the SKEMA Alumni UK club alongside Amelie Willemet (SK 2015).

Keren Malca (SK 2017), Campaign Marketing Analyst B2B @Salesforce (London)

After graduating, I arrived in London in 2017 for my final internship, working in marketing for Valentino Parfums. And nearly 3 years on, I’m still here! I was later hired by the group in the role of Brand Manager Paco Rabanne and Nina Ricci. After several product launches on the UK market, I have recently embarked on a new adventure in the tech world, working for the highly innovative company Salesforce. There are new challenges ahead! We all have very atypical backgrounds and will be able to learn a lot from each other. Having spent 3 years in London, I’m very excited to be joining the alumni team to help run the network, make it even more dynamic and make sure that everyone is interconnected so their experience in the UK can be even richer. And given what Alice Guilhon has just announced in the new strategic plan, SKY25, I will do my best to support her in increasing my school’s prominence on the world stage through the alumni and local businesses in the UK.

I will also be thrilled to share my experiences of pivoting my career from Luxury to Tech. The challenges I faced, but also all my favourite places in London. I look forward to meeting you or seeing you again at the next event!

Laura Bru (SK 2017), Global Engagement Director @Mintel (London)

When I came to live in London in January 2018, I was already somewhat familiar with the city. I’d done my gap year internship in marketing there at JDE (a coffee supplier) and I’d also participated in some SKEMA Alumni events. I’d found it very enriching to mingle with professionals from different sectors and to hear about their experiences and expertise in a supportive environment.

After completing my master’s in IMDB and attending several SKEMA campuses (Lille, Suzhou, Paris and a student exchange in Florida), I felt well equipped and I applied for my first job. Today, I work in market intelligence at Mintel (market research) to help players in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry to innovate on different continents and in different product categories. For the past two years I have continued to participate in other alumni events. These days I don’t need convincing (laughs) that the power of the network really becomes tangible and a real asset when the alumni share and give (time, advice). While SKEMA’s international ambitions extend well beyond the United Kingdom, I am thrilled to be involved and taking action at your side as an ambassador. All together, we can find ways to become the avant-garde alumni network! by welcoming students to our companies, by increasing their cultural learning…
