The return of in-person events

26 October 2021 Events

We’ve already got some dates for you to save!

The glowing feedback about some in-person events held recently, including the inauguration of the SKEMA Canada premises in Montreal, the second edition of the “SKEMA Alumni Matinales” conference series in Lille, and the Hauts-de-France International Piano Competition where we were present as part of our partnership with Les Etoiles du Piano, has motivated us to plan others over the coming months, as you can see in our events calendar.

SKEMA Canada inauguration

The inauguration of the new SKEMA Business School premises in Montreal took place on 22 October. In attendance, were several members of SKEMA’s Executive Committee, some local personalities, and around twenty alumni from different graduating classes.

Some testimonials

“I met some fantastic alumni and we’ve already planned to see each other again. I even got to catch up with Julie Decaux, whom I’d met in Ireland at a SKEMA Alumni meet-up I had helped organise, and Fouad Bitar who was alumni ambassador in Canada a few years ago and had enabled me to meet other alumni at the time.” William O'Neill (SKEMA 2011) Presales Manager at WORKDAY.

“It was really great to see the alumni again after this year of pandemic and it was also very interesting to see SKEMA’s strategy with regards to artificial intelligence and new technologies in general.” Morgan Thibault (SKEMA 2015), Category Manager at Sobeys.

After this inauguration, other events were held in New York and Lille:

- Following on from the ten-year anniversary of our Raleigh campus, a dinner was held at the French Consulate in New York on 28 October, with the French Consul-General, some members of SKEMA’s Executive Committee, and several alumni. New York alumni, save the date... there will be a Prestige Event on 2 March 2022! We’ll send out more information very soon. Stay tuned!

- In Lille, the second edition of the “SKEMA Alumni Matinales” conference series was held on 16 November, with the theme “Is entrepreneurship a lever for growth?”, followed by the third edition of the Reverse Mentoring workshop with the association “Forces Femmes” and SKEMA Ventures. - Also in Lille, SKEMA Alumni is getting involved in the Hauts-de-France ecosystem by supporting local activities such as Les Étoiles du Piano, an association which organises an international piano competition and a gala every two years in the Hauts-de-France region. SKEMA Business School shares the association’s values of excellence and youth, so wished to contribute to capturing each of the prize-winners on video. This gala was followed by a cocktail reception where 26 alumni represented the SKEMA community. On 17 March 2022, in partnership with the Lille Chamber of Commerce and Industry, we will be holding a piano recital as a follow-on of that first event.
