In Dubai, is it possible to live your “Ikigai”?

01 March 2019 Events

"I’ve been doing a lot of personal development for several years now and I’ve changed careers at least 4 times. This workshop offered a wide range of answers and themes for all the alumni present to consider.

This first careers conference held on 18 February 2019 was designed to help participants take stock of their career, clear any blocks that might be preventing them from moving forward, and bring to light the possibilities that make sense.
During this interactive workshop, participants discussed the topic of career transitions. With the guidance of workshop facilitator Caroline Gasc (SK 1997), Executive, Team and Leadership Coach at Sea Change FZE, the participants assessed their current work situation and explored their goals and motivation for the next step on their career path.

They also got the chance to think about how to position themselves, as well as share their doubts and what was holding them back from taking action towards their goal. The big question on everyone’s mind is whether or not it’s possible to live your “ikigai”, a Japanese word for the sweet spot where profession, vocation, passion and mission intersect, and get paid for it. As if compromises were inevitable and finding true fulfilment at work impossible... this is all about finding fulfilment in life.  What a person does for work is without a doubt an important element in this and one of the keys to a successful life.
