London, paradise for our entrepreneurs?

15 November 2019 Events

With more than 800 alumni present in London (and 1000 in the UK), this is the second biggest alumni community worldwide. The simplicity of the system has led some to choose the British capital as the place to launch their start-up. Not only is this city the world’s leading financial hub, starting a business or launching a new venture is also easier there.

We review the first entrepreneurs’ pitch event held on 12 November 2019 at the Marquis Cornwallis, where 4 alumni got the chance to speak:

Virginie Alvarez (SK 2006), founder of MyWardrobeMistakes (fashion industry, second-hand luxury accessories)   Learn about Virginie and her business
Helene Piquion (SK 1996), founder of Ratatouie (foodtech industry, not just for kids)   Read her story
Theo Sastre-Garau (SK 2014), founder of Ciri Media Ltd and Déclic Podcast (web industry - some of our alumni have been “podcast”)  Read about Theo and what he’s up to

Stephanie Watine Bonduelle (SK 2006), co-founder of Ultraconfidentiel Design (design sector, working between India and France for major brands)

It’s unanimous, in London it is easier to meet entrepreneurs from all around the world and to build a network. And let’s not forget that English is now a lingua franca across the globe. There is a different mentality in London.

And despite the fears surrounding Brexit, our entrepreneurs are still drawn to this city. We leave you with this conclusion inspired by Peter Drucker: “The best way to predict the future is to create it.”
