SKEMA’s graduation ceremony was held on Saturday 4 June at the Zénith in Paris. It was a high point in the life of the school and in my own, as I had the honour of being invited to receive the “Alumni of the Year” award for my contributions to the SKEMA Alumni network.

It brought back some great memories for me! I graduated on Saturday 7 March 2009 at the Grand Palais in Lille. Seven years separate these two events, and yet the emotions are the same: satisfaction, happiness at seeing friends again after a year apart, pride in the eyes of the parents, and of course joy and relief upon receiving the precious diploma!

So really the only thing that has changed is the scale of the event. Larger classes are bringing 2,000 new members to our alumni network each year. Our school is undergoing the same transformation as the economic fabric that surrounds it and preparing its students by offering programmes that are multi-disciplinary, multi-campus and ultra-specialised. The new graduates are entering the international job market with the tools they need to understand it and navigate it successfully. A single degree can enables us to either start our own business or join the teams of another, in France or abroad. In this newsletter you will discover some great examples of life and career paths and the many activities of our very dynamic SKEMA Alumni Entrepreneurs Club, which provides advice and support to its peers.

From Russia, I run our community and help further raise the profile of our degrees through SKEMA Alumni events or within my own company. It’s like the hummingbird story… each drop of water counts!
