Toronto's 1st alumni meetup!

12 July 2018 Events

Our Toronto-based SKEMA alumni gathered for the very first time on Tuesday 26 June 2018, at the Ballroom Bowl! (join the SKEMA Alumni Canada club and the facebook group)

The event was organised by the club’s two ambassadors, Jean-Christophe Lamy (SK 1988) and Aurélie Doche (SK 2010)*. We’re thrilled to have welcomed 15 alumni, who were able to get to know one another in a relaxed setting around a game of ten-pin bowling! The foundations of a local network are now in place.
The event was long awaited by many of the alumni. It was a chance for them to talk about their professional and personal experiences. Since the main goal is network development, everyone got the chance to express their views on the need to stay in touch, get together on a regular basis, and recruit new members.

Here is some of the feedback we got about the event:
"Thanks so much for making the effort to organise this first get-together."
"Excellent organisation. Well done!!!  And until the next meetup… Cheers!"

Thanks to the participants for their feedback. We promise that the next event will be held in a less noisy venue. The joys of ten-pin bowling...

 * Jean-Christophe Lamy, SK 1988: I’ve been living in Canada since 1997 and in Toronto for the last 20 years. After earning an MBA in the States and spending a few years working in the field of marketing in different parts of Europe, I left the Old Continent to pursue my dream to become a pilot. Canada offered me this possibility, first at Bombardier as a test pilot, then at Air Canada training pilots, and now at Sunwing as a pilot-in-command/instructor on Boeing 737 Max aircraft. I spend the very little downtime I have sailing in summer and skiing in winter.

Aurélie Doche, SK 2010, has just settled in Toronto. Aurélie spent 4 years working for a cruise line as Marketing and Communications Manager. She then did volunteer work for an NGO in India, where she discovered her passion for embroidery. Once back in France, she decided to launch a business selling hand-embroidered products under the “Linette Paris” brand name. At the same time, Aurélie worked for AXA as an external digital transformation consultant. In Toronto, she is developing her hand-embroidery business and working a job on the side.
