Caroline Vaquette (SKEMA 2001): Inclusion as a driver for change

20 September 2024 Course

Caroline Vaquette, Director of Diversity & Inclusion at Pernod Ricard, is a leading figure in the fight for equality and inclusion in the workplace. In the second issue of Glimpse, she draws on her international experience to share her views on group dynamics, the importance of legislation in France and the need for an inclusive culture where authenticity is key. Committed for years to the issues of gender diversity and equal pay, she explains why these battles will remain central to her work.

Experience in the field

"In a team of 10 people, it takes at least 3 women to change habits and group dynamics."

A global vision

"People always say that the United States is more mature in terms of feminisation. That's true. But in France, we have other qualities, one being that we are supported by legislation."

Inclusion and acceptance

"Building this culture of inclusion means being able to admit we can make mistakes."

A commitment (or two)

"Gender diversity and equal pay are two basic issues we won't give up on."

Making things clear

"There are many different types of leadership, not just one type for women."

A quest for authenticity

"If you can't be authentic at work, if you have to constantly hide who you are, you'll never be able to perform well. Our goal is to create an environment in which you can be yourself."
