InKubateur launched its 1st bootcamp for SKEMA students at Euratechnologies from 4 to 6 April!

12 April 2016 Events

As part of the Global Entrepreneurship Initiative, SKEMA is stepping up efforts to foster business creation among students and young graduates. Led by Michel Bernasconi, the Global Entrepreneurship Initiative aims to make SKEMA a school renowned for business creation and innovation.

This year, InKubateur ran its first bootcamp aimed at students from our French campuses who want to start their own business. It was held in Lille on 4, 5 and 6 April, in partnership with Euratechnologies.  Twenty students from our Bachelor, MSc and Grande Ecole programmes had registered for the event, representing a total of 14 projects. They worked with passion, enthusiasm and dynamism.
They were guided by Franck Arnold, Director of the Tonic incubator, by Michel Bernasconi for SKEMA, and by the Euratechnologies incubation team led by Samuel Tapin.
Personal accounts shared by entrepreneurs, including Charles Christory, Adictiz (ITEEM-SKEMA 2008), gave participants a clearer idea of life as an entrepreneur.

The jury, composed of Xavier Trub (SK 1994), Raphael Robil (SK 2007), Eric Delobel (SK 2011) and Victor Jolyot (SK 2011), all SKEMA alumni and all entrepreneurs and business owners, gave of their time and expertise to advise these future entrepreneurs on their projects as best as possible, identify positives and figure out the best ways forward.

Now that the bootcamp is over, some of the projects will integrate SKEMA’s InKubateur to benefit from support over the coming months.

All of the participants reported that they were pleased with the bootcamp and that this type of event is pertinent for helping them to get their business off the ground. Contributing to this result were the superb premises and the resources placed at their disposal by Euratechnologies. Our alumni’s commitment was also a significant factor in the event’s success.

As InKubateur is currently in high demand, we are now considering holding these bootcamps twice a year – once in Sophia Antipolis in autumn, and once in Lille in spring.
