Gildas Coldeboeuf (SKEMA 1993), Ambassador of the Singapore chapter

Could you briefly tell us about your career since graduating from SKEMA Business School and what motivated you to become an ambassador for the SKEMA Alumni Singapore chapter?

Since graduating in 1993, my professional journey has been rich and diverse. After completing my studies at SKEMA (then Sup de Co Lille), I began my career in Africa before spending 21 years in Europe with Canon. Eight years ago, I made the decision to move to Asia, where I returned to studying before embarking on an entrepreneurial path in cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), augmented reality (AR), and virtual reality (VR).
What inspired me to take on the role of ambassador for the Singapore Local Chapter was the vibrant energy of the existing group of ambassadors. I found it truly motivating and wanted to contribute by bringing the local alumni community closer together. Most of the events I organise focus on networking, providing alumni with an opportunity to connect and step away from their daily routines.

How do you plan to energise and animate the Singapore chapter as its ambassador? Could you share some ideas for events or initiatives you’d like to organise?

Over the past three to four years, I’ve learned that networking events tend to draw the most interest from alumni. Getting together over a drink to reconnect with former classmates remains a strong motivator for many.
On the other hand, more formal professional events, such as conferences, tend to attract much less interest.
I’ve also noticed that activity-based events, such as pétanque games, are consistently popular. Initiatives like these bring a casual and enjoyable atmosphere to our Singapore local chapter, making our community feel even more connected and engaging.

What message would you like to pass on to alumni to encourage them to join and become actively involved in the SKEMA Alumni Singapore chapter?

I encourage everyone to come and meet new people by attending or even organising events. It’s a fantastic opportunity to relive some of the camaraderie from your SKEMA days and take advantage of the strength of our network. The Singapore local chapter is especially unique, with alumni from diverse backgrounds and remarkable career journeys, making every encounter enriching and inspiring.
