Hong Kong: welcoming the new year and some students

14 January 2020 Events

On 8 January 2020, the Hong Kong alumni* got together at Metropolitain, a French restaurant in Sai Ying Pun, for a new year’s after-work event. The 23 attendees, ranging from Class of 2007 alumni to students currently on internships, chatted over a friendly drink and shared some charcuterie and cheese platters (view the album).

Enjoyed by all, the event was a chance to get reacquainted and to talk about everyone’s plans for 2020. This reunion was also an opportunity to welcome and guide newcomers to Hong Kong. That was the case for Pauline and Justine, who had landed just a week earlier for their internships. They shared their impressions with us:

“It was an excellent night in a great venue! It gave me the chance to meet some new people, especially since I only arrived in Hong Kong just over a week ago. I got some advice on life here and the places to check out. It’s reassuring to know there are French people here, and even more so that there are SKEMA alumni here in Hong Kong and that they can help you if needed. Thanks very much to the organisers! When is the next meet-up?”

“Justine and I had a good night with SKEMA Alumni. We’re students at the moment, so it was interesting to talk about the different courses everyone had done and their different career paths. Thanks to SKEMA and Marjorie, Clara and Eleonore for this enjoyable moment.”

--  Pauline Judicq-Salembier Business Development Intern at Bareaya.

*There are 135 alumni in the SKEMA Alumni Hong Kong club, which is run by 3 ambassadors: (Marjorie Soria-Limacher, Eleonore Brun-Gervat, and Clara Le Gall).
