Laurent Beaurepaire (SKEMA 2005), Ambassador of the Digital-Data-Marketing Club
Could you tell us a little about your career since graduating from SKEMA Business School and what motivated you to become an ambassador of the SKEMA Alumni Digital-Data-Marketing Club?
I started my career in Paris in a smaller-sized company specialising in sound identity and digital services. I discovered an innovative and stimulating environment there. A few years later, I broadened my horizons by moving to Luxembourg, then Brussels, to gain technical skills in IT. I developed technical and strategic expertise by working for a major player in the industry as a consultant and sales representative.
Drawn to project management, I founded my first company, ReachTheFirst, a digital agency focused on performance and innovation. After nine years, I sold it to the Onepoint group and stayed on working for them. Wanting to explore new opportunities, I joined Talan, a digital services company where I was responsible for transforming the management processes of international structures.
Drawing on this wealth of experience, I decided to embark on an entrepreneurial adventure with two former colleagues from the Talan management team. Together, we founded UFO² Consulting, where I lead the commercial activities, supported by a team of 20 people based in Paris and Luxembourg.
In parallel, for the last eight years I've had the opportunity to pass on my knowledge by teaching different marketing subjects to Master 2 students. This teaching brings me so much, on both a personal and a professional level.
For me, becoming an ambassador of the Digital-Data-Marketing Club is a natural extension of this desire to share and to continue learning. The industry is constantly evolving and this club is a fantastic opportunity to strengthen ties between alumni and explore the major industry trends together.
As ambassador, how do you plan to bring energy and life to the Digital-Data-Marketing Club? Can you share any ideas for initiatives or for events you’d like to run?
I want to mobilise my alumni network and expand it, to highlight their expertise and experience around the club's key themes.
For in-person events, I'd like to organise some company visits, networking sessions and innovation-focused workshops. The aim is to encourage rich, dynamic discussions in a convivial setting. For online events, I plan to run interactive, expert-led webinars to provide easy and broad access to content.
Topics will inevitably include current and inescapable issues like artificial intelligence (AI), with some reflection on its uses, limitations and environmental impact. My ambition is to make the club a place of intellectual stimulation and personal enrichment, where members can delve deeper into topics and discover a variety of perspectives.
What message would you like to send to our alumni to encourage them to join and become actively involved in the SKEMA Alumni Digital-Data-Marketing Club?
The club is a unique opportunity to benefit from the expertise of your peers, to delve deeper into topics that interest you, or simply to keep up to date in a field that is constantly evolving. It's also a valuable opportunity to share your own expertise and experience for the benefit of the alumni community.
All of this in a friendly, supportive environment that encourages the exchange of ideas.
Whether you’re looking to expand your network or contribute to enriching discussions, the Digital-Data-Marketing Club is for you. Join us and contribute to the success of upcoming events!
