In the mythical Hôtel Belles-Rives in Juan-les-Pins, an emblem of prestige and glamour on the French Riviera, our alumni and partners were immersed in a Gatsby-esque atmosphere as a saxophone player filled the air with music.

Different career paths, projects and ventures, successes focused on the big picture, a shared ambition to see the school rise to the top of rankings, mentorships, and applauded news for our alumni-entrepreneurs in the region… these are the key elements of an inspiring network!

A number of entrepreneurs were present, some of which now have the privilege of being supported in their development by Village by CA, a partner of SKEMA Business School. One such lucky person is Fabrice Leclercq (SK 1985), Founder of INFUZIT, which produces and sells herbal teas in capsules that are compatible with certain big-brand coffee machines. Another is Jérôme Sanzelle (SK 1997), Co-founder and CEO of Trucksme, specialised in industrial vehicle hire between professionals.

The event was also an opportunity to mingle with people with unusual backgrounds, like Alessandro Vischi (SK 2017), Veterinarian and Founder of Vet Manager, who has a passion for treating horses in France and Italy, or Bernard Deloupy (SK 1978), journalist and trainer.  Finally, attendees had the privilege of discovering an exhibition by Eric Garence (SK 2005), the artist, poster designer and illustrator who created our ‘Gatsby’ poster for the event. Everyone present received a copy in postcard format. This postcard was then sent by participants to some 60 alumni in their network. Did you get one? (Discover Eric Garence’s artwork)

This event gave us a chance to thank companies that have been actively involved with our school for several years now, like Frost & Sullivan:  “The firm’s 4 sales consultants based in Sophia Antipolis are alumni of the school. We’ve participated in several editions of the Sales Challenge, as part of the negotiation training run by Peter Spier. This enables us to recruit our future junior sales consultants from among the top performers. Students nearing the end of their studies are an important talent pool for Frost & Sullivan. It’s also always a pleasure for us to share our work and experience with the students, to have a common ambition.” Nicolas Votano (SK 2006) and Emeline Goujon (SK 2015).

And making news recently, three alumni who are betting on smart marketing: Julien Musso (SK 1999), Hervé Baile (SK 1997) and Fabien Graille (SK 1997), co-founders of Net Solution Partner (NSP), a Sophia Antipolis-based digital marketing company that has joined forces with INRIA for an ambitious machine learning project (find out more).
Also in the spotlight were 3 students, Léna FelderhoffSteeve Goubet and Sara Ben Brahim who, last year, set up Enactus SKEMA Business School - Sophia-Antipolis. Enactus is an association devoted to social entrepreneurship. The Sophia-Antipolis group was just awarded a trophy by The Adecco Group France for its implementation of best practices in HR Management. The result: they get to spend a week shadowing Adecco’s HR managers and they’ll be flying off to attend the #EnactusWorldCup in the #SiliconValley!

Finally, this prestigious setting opened up the network’s borders a little more: Romain Dagallier (SK 2017), Manager at Amaris in Montreal, and Caroline Daudon (SK 2017), Purchasing Consultant at KLB Group Canada, made the trip especially from Canada for their graduation ceremony in Paris and to attend the Prestige Event on the French Riviera. We’ll see them in Montreal very soon, at the  SKEMA Alumni BBQ to celebrate Bastille Day

And we’ll see you after the summer break, for our business event on 27 September in Nice (Reserve your spot now).
Last year, some 80 alumni attended!
