Alice Guilhon receives French Légion d'Honneur
On 11 February 2025, in an emotional and solemn atmosphere, Alice Guilhon, Dean and Executive President of SKEMA Business School, was officially awarded the Légion d'Honneur. Around a hundred people attended the ceremony held in the salons of the Palais du Luxembourg, including personalities from the academic and business worlds, SKEMA alumni and friends and family who came to celebrate her outstanding career.
Alice Guilhon was awarded the rank of Chevalier on 14 July 2024 and asked Frank Bournois, Vice-Chairman and Dean of CEIBS, to present her with this distinction. In a speech recognising Alice Guilhon’s achievements, he recalled the milestones of her career and shared memories of their collaboration. In particular, he highlighted their shared commitment to defending the interests of France's grandes écoles, first as part of the Conférence des Grandes Écoles, then through the creation of the Conférence des Directeurs des Écoles Françaises de Management (CDEFM), an association which Alice Guilhon founded in 2021 and chaired until 2024. He concluded by saying: “Alice Guilhon knows how to combine intellectual rigour and entrepreneurial daring, while remaining true to her values and commitments. She is a credit to the entire higher education community”.
Deeply moved by these kind words, Alice Guilhon expressed her gratitude and joy: “I see this award as a tribute to the work I have always done in the general interest, for the advancement of higher education and the recognition of the grandes écoles in France and abroad. Of course, I share this honour with the dedicated teams around me at SKEMA,” she said with emotion.
The Légion d'Honneur, France's highest distinction, is awarded for outstanding service to the nation. The award of the rank of Chevalier recognises more than twenty years of dedicated service to higher education and to the training of future generations.
