2021: new year, new services!

18 January 2021

2021 is here, bringing with it new challenges, new experiences and some new year’s resolutions!

Recently, you told us what you want and expect from the network: to share your experience and expertise more with our students; to get involved in the recruitment of “Skemiens”, whether within the school itself or your companies; to mentor new and recent graduates or coach entrepreneurs; and finally, to support your school’s development. This wish list has guided our brainstorming and planning.

To bring you what you want, we have put together a new service offering that is more aligned with your expectations and focuses on four areas: professional development, networking, recognition and bespoke services.

In keeping with SKEMA’s mission and values, we will be placing continuous learning and personal development at the centre of this offering. Whether you are looking to upskill or reskill, explore new areas of interest or get advice to fine-tune your career plan, there will be several options available to you. These will include preferential access to SKEMA Executive Education courses; workshops and webinars created to support your career goals; and finally, for job seekers, the possibility of receiving specialised guidance from our new partner, Helicoach.

The power of our network lies in its 48,000 alumni spread across some 150 countries. We are intent not only on bringing you together but also on giving you access to other networks, through inspirational events such as the TransAtlantic Leaders Forum, which gathered some 1,600 decision-makers on the theme of “Impact. Innovation. Inclusion” last November.

We will encourage and facilitate skill sharing, notably through a bespoke mentoring programme, but also sponsorship initiatives and profession-specific events, and meet-ups to encourage mutual support, exchanges and learning within the community.

Until we can see you all again in person, we will make the most of the possibilities afforded to us by the different digital platforms, which will enable you to access different activities and inspiring content from wherever you are in the world.

We are convinced that SKEMA’s success is in part due to its alumni, as they sit on the school’s various bodies, support its students through scholarships, or share their soft and hard skills with the new generations.

Once again, a big thank you for your ongoing commitment and support.

On behalf of the Alumni & Fundraising team, I wish you a very happy new year.
