In a ceremony filled with emotion and solemnity, Alice Guilhon, Dean and Executive President of SKEMA Business School, was officially awarded the Légion d’Honneur on 11 February 2025. The event, held in the grand salons of the Palais du Luxembourg, gathered around a hundred guests, including key figures from the higher education and business worlds, SKEMA alumni, as well as close friends and family who came to celebrate her outstanding career.
Appointed to the rank of Chevalier in the 14 July 2024 honours list, Alice Guilhon chose Frank Bournois, Vice-President and Dean of CEIBS, to present her with this prestigious distinction. In a speech filled with appreciation, he recalled the key milestones of Alice Guilhon’s career and shared memories of their collaboration. He particularly highlighted their joint commitment to defending the interests of France’s leading business schools, first within the Conférence des Grandes Écoles, and later through the creation of the Conférence des Directeurs des Écoles Françaises de Management (CDEFM)—an association championed by Alice Guilhon in 2021, which she chaired until 2024. He concluded with these words: "Alice Guilhon knows how to combine intellectual rigour with entrepreneurial boldness while staying true to her values and commitments. She brings honour to the entire higher education community."

Deeply moved by these warm words, Alice Guilhon expressed her gratitude and joy. “I see this distinction as a tribute to the work I have always carried out in the service of the greater good, advancing higher education and ensuring the recognition of France’s leading business schools both nationally and internationally. Naturally, I share this honour with the dedicated teams around me at SKEMA,” she said with emotion.
The Légion d’Honneur, France’s highest national distinction, is awarded for outstanding contributions to the nation. The appointment to the rank of Chevalier marks more than twenty years of dedicated service to higher education and the training of future generations.
