Guillaume Desjardins (SKEMA 2011), ambassador of the Belgium Chapter

28 April 2025 Interview

Could you tell us a little about your journey since graduating from SKEMA Business School and what motivated you to become an ambassador of the SKEMA Alumni Belgium Chapter?

I graduated from SKEMA Business School in 2011, and I also hold a Master’s in Accounting, Control & Auditing from the University of Lille. After my studies, I started my career in audit and consulting at PwC Luxembourg, before moving into financial analysis and risk management at BNP Paribas and Belfius Bank.

I’m currently Senior Risk Manager at Candriam in Brussels, specialising in risk management and asset management. My career has given me a complete picture of the financial sector, spanning auditing, banking regulation, and risk management in both banking and asset management.

I strongly believe that the SKEMA Alumni network is a true powerhouse, especially in a city as international as Brussels, where there are so many financial institutions, private players, and international organisations. For me, being an ambassador is about giving back to the school, building bridges between students, young graduates, and established alumni, and helping to raise SKEMA’s profile in Belgium.

As an ambassador, how do you plan to revitalise and energise the SKEMA Alumni Belgium Chapter? Do you have any ideas for initiatives or events you'd like to run?

I want to make the chapter a vibrant and welcoming network. My goal is to organise afterwork get-togethers and friendly conferences to strengthen connections, host themed gatherings around the career paths and professions of our alumni, and support students and young graduates settling in Brussels. The idea is simple: create connections, share experiences, and continue to build SKEMA's reputation in Belgium.

What message would you like to send to our alumni to encourage them to join and become actively involved in the SKEMA Alumni Belgium Chapter?

When you join the Brussels Chapter, you immediately become part of a dynamic alumni community sharing valuable experiences and creating new opportunities together. Your involvement will make a real difference. Together, let’s make the Belgium Chapter an inspiring and go-to community.
