Were you at the network’s end-of-summer events?

08 October 2019 Events

These are an annual tradition for SKEMA’s three campus locations in France. In Nice, Lille and Paris, our alumni gathered at end-of-summer events to socialise with members of the association. Networking activities, great venue, drinks and finger food... plenty of good reasons for the alumni to come again.

In Nice, our alumni celebrated the end of summer with their feet in the sand at the unique and private Bay Star Beach, with a new, fun activity called ‘Find your pairs’, played by 50 of the attendees. Each participant had to find their pair to form a famous duo such as Starsky and Hutch, Tom and Jerry or SKEMA and United. Some wonderful stories were shared by network members. One of these was Camille Kasmi (SK 2016), who has just returned from working in New York for a year. Now in Nice, she is working in Sales & Marketing at Beiersdorf, one of the biggest cosmetics brands in the world. We also met Shannon Waknine, a student who was elected Miss Sport Biz in 2017. There are many talented people in our network, as we all know!

In Lille, the network had arranged to meet up at Coke, in Old Lille, for drinks and delectable finger food. Around 60 Skema students and alumni from Lille, but also from India, Brussels and the Côte d’Azur, got together in a fun, friendly and supportive atmosphere.
They braved the unpredictable weather that night to come and make new friends and professional contacts. It was also a chance to run through the next events being held in the Hauts-de-France region. Entrepreneurs’ Club and Project Management Club meetups, after-work get-togethers, SKEMA United and career events... you’ll find them all on the website.

In Paris, the alumni got together on the banks of the Seine near the Eiffel Tower, in a hip converted industrial space. The networking event drew a crowd of over 80 alumni from different years, there to meet and chat with their community. The “3 graduates, 3 minutes, 3 announcements” networking activity was once again a big success for those who got up to present. Anne-Constance Six (SK 2011), a strategy consultant, was looking for advice from the community, as she’s embarking on a new musical adventure with the creation of Dabadaba, a place for acoustic music. As for Alexis Dauliac, a future graduate of the MS Wealth Management programme, he has started his own recruitment firm, Trouve Moi un Job, to put job seekers in touch with companies. His goal was to let the alumni know about his services in order to help them. And lastly, Oscar Lefebvre (SK 2017) and Muriel Chaizemartin (SK 2009), two new ambassadors of the Digital Club came to talk about their plans in Paris and its surrounds and to let the alumni know about the club’s next events.
