The SKEMA Alumni Prestige Events: the SKEMA network’s not-to-be-missed social gatherings!

14 December 2017 Events

Each academic year, SKEMA Alumni offers you the chance to gather in an exceptional setting and invites you into emblematic venues in the presence of the Dean of SKEMA Business School. These events, organised in 6 cities around the world, are an opportunity to meet alumni with a variety of different backgrounds, to network, and to talk to the Dean of SKEMA Business School about the progress made by the school as well as its future plans.

Lille and Paris were first out of the gate at the end of 2017, with over 330 participants!

Here’s a review of the Lille Prestige Event:

140 people from the classes of 1981 to 2017 got together on 30 November 2017 in the exceptional setting provided by Villa Cavrois, for the 7th SKEMA Alumni Lille Prestige Event (see the photos here)!

The alumni were welcomed by the SKEMA Alumni Association and the SKEMA Business School management team and were updated on the latest news from the school and network after discovering the Villa’s fascinating history during the guided tours that were organised.

Along with the after-work events, talks, career workshops and Entrepreneurs’ Club meetups (some twenty events per year in the Hauts-de-France region), the Prestige Event is an intergenerational networking event that is well known and anticipated among the alumni! Attendees from different classes, industries and campuses mingle, united by simple and essential values such as sharing and conviviality! Thank you to everyone for your participation and for the enthusiasm you bring to each new event! Let’s continue to develop this wonderful network together thanks to your involvement (talks, sharing experiences, job vacancies, internships, mentoring, participation in jury panels, etc.).

Your next Lille events will be focused on careers (16 and 23/01), project management (30/01) and entrepreneurship (13/02)!

Here’s a look back at the Paris event, held in Europe’s highest panoramic function room:

Over 190 alumni from the classes of 1973 to today – some now living in Brazil or the USA – got together on the 56th floor of Tour Montparnasse for a prestigious cocktail reception in the presence of the Dean of SKEMA Business School. (The first photos can be found here)

The evening began with a welcome address by Anne-Sophie Duchamp, General Manager of SKEMA Alumni, who presented the network’s key figures and spoke about how important it is for the alumni to get involved in their community, before handing over the floor to Alice Guilhon, Dean of SKEMA Business School. What followed was an impactful speech in which Alice Guilhon once again emphasised the power of the network and its influence on the next stages of the school’s development. She invited the alumni to rally around SKEMA and confirmed some new get-togethers with the alumni planned for 2018.

For this 7th edition, the event once again showcased network members: guests were greeted by the SKEMA Conseil team, treated to delicious food by Riem Becker – a company run by Thierry Suzanne (SK 1975) −, and entertained by the smooth voice of Sabrina Cheref (SK 2006), aka Sans Elle, who delighted attendees with her jazz & soul compositions. A photo booth enabled some fifty alumni to snap a digital portrait for their LinkedIn profile and their CV. Worth mentioning also was the presence of the industry-specific club ambassadors, who came to enjoy this festive occasion in the spirit of contributing to the development of their communities.

Your next Parisian events (some 40 events per year which you can discover here) include the 2nd Entrepreneurs’ Club meetup on 24/01, a presentation by Robert Dilts on “How to create yourself in your career” on 31/01 and a Digital Drink on 07/02!

SKEMA Alumni’s wonderful encounters continue in London on 21 March 2018, in Shanghai in late April, and on 15 February 2018 in Dubai (more info to come). The entire SKEMA Alumni team wishes you a wonderful festive season. See you in 2018!
