SKEMA Alumni support HOPE to make Camille Murris’ (SK 2012) dream come true

19 February 2018

Camille Murris, HOPE & The children of Centre Tecendo in Vida

Camille Murris, SKEMA graduate 2012, was a victim of the 14 July 2016 terrorist attack in Nice. Camille was an active member of the school’s humanitarian association, HOPE. To honour her memory and promote the values she stood for, her parents have asked HOPE (Humanitarian Organization Promoting Equity) to carry out a project that Camille held dear: helping very needy children in a South American country. Her parents and friends describe her as fun, caring and someone who showed true feelings. She always wanted to help others and worked as a volunteer in an orphanage in South America.

In partnership with the association Operaçao do Brasil and thanks to its representative, Pascal Caquineau, one of HOPE’s ambitions was to extend the Tecendo Centre in Vida, Belo Horizonte. This centre provides care to children in difficult family circumstances. In the long term, extending the centre to double its current capacity will provide space for the children to play, express themselves and find fulfilment through discovering their talents and interests. Ten SKEMA students from all campuses are volunteering for this enlargement project.

This is why HOPE needs you! On 5 February, an online collection will be launched to help achieve Camille’s dream. You will find the link here to participate and track the project’s progress. Let’s make a joint effort not to forget Camille and her smile, and help these children to find their way to happiness and a better life.
