SPOTTED IN THE PRESS: HR managers moving to the United States, by Lea Simothe, Mathilde Wallez (SKEMA 2020) and Eliane Bacha (SKEMA professor)

In the field of human resources it is common to study international mobility, but what of HR managers wishing to move abroad?

Drawing on empirical research into the differences in human resource management (HRM) between France and the United States, we take a look at the specific case of human resource managers who have moved to the United States, the second most popular destination for French expatriates according to French Senate data from 2018. By conducting semi-structured interviews with French HR managers who have worked or are currently working in the United States, Lea SimotheMathilde Wallez (SKEMA 2020) and Eliane Bacha (SKEMA professor) were able to reach several conclusions. These results relate to three categories of questions: human resources, expatriation, and the American culture.
