With crowdfunding, it is now possible to fund the launch of your business or project. Since 2008 and French singer Grégoire’s album “Toi + Moi”, funded through the My Major Company platform, this new method for raising funds has developed considerably.
Whether it is donation-based, loan-based, reward-based or equity-based, crowdfunding enables the general public to finance a multitude of projects.
Crowdfunding: how does it work? What are the mistakes to avoid? What should we expect from the entry into force of the decree planned for 1 July 2014? All of these questions will be answered by our three experts:
Pierre-Henri Soler (class of 2008): Head of business relations at Unilend
With some five years’ investment banking experience in France and abroad, Pierre-Henri takes care of Unilend’s business relations and partnerships, to introduce the platform to French SMEs and micro-businesses.
Guillaume Pépin, Head of crowdfunding at MyMajorCompany
As an ESSEC business school graduate driven by a desire to experience a real entrepreneurial adventure, Guillaume Pépin joined My Major Company in 2012 to develop the crowdfunding offering aimed at entrepreneurs. Guillaume is now head of the My Major Company Crowdfunding Department
Souleymane Galadima, Head of development and partnerships at Wiseed
Having graduated from the ESSTIN school of engineering in Nancy and obtained a Master’s degree in corporate finance from ISEM, Souleymane developed a taste for venture capital during his years spent advising businesses on ways to optimise their working capital. Astounded at seeing so many promising businesses fail to grow due to problems with obtaining funding, Souleymane eventually joined the founders of WiSEED, Thierry Merquiol and Nicolas Sérès, to contribute to developing the raising of capital through crowdfunding.
On the agenda:
- 8.15 am: Welcome coffee
- 8.30 am: Talks by 3 crowdfunding experts, followed by discussions with participants
- 10 am: End of the breakfast
Hosted by Marie-Anne Bernasconi, class of 2010, co-founder and manager of Estrelab
