Points made by the speakers: today, an implicit consensus is beginning to emerge: conventional finance inherited from the past must be complemented by sustainable finance, that of today and tomorrow. This represents a break with an increasingly complex financial world, while preserving the valuation tools offered by the market.
Sustainable finance is also a commitment to being closer to people and not excluding conventional finance. In essence, sustainable finance, a central element of CSR, is a form of finance that aims to put an end to certain deadly sins that were at the root of the 2007 crisis. These sins include: conflicts of interest, the complexity of financial products, lack of transparency, profiteering excesses and, above all, short-termism.
To make concrete progress along this new path, we need to develop the right performance indicators. This so-called sustainable performance reconciles financial and extra-financial criteria. This is the aim of the research carried out by SKEMA's International Sustainable Finance Observatory, the main results of which will be presented at this conference by Dhafer Saidane, its Director.
In the 2nd part of the conference, Philippe Kunter will present the tools put in place by Bpifrance.
