Aurélie Briand Schmitt (SKEMA 2005), Finance Club Ambassador

07 May 2025 Interview

Could you tell us a little about your journey since graduating from SKEMA Business School and what motivated you to become an ambassador of the Finance Club?

After graduating, I joined Price Waterhouse Coopers in Paris as an auditor for 3 years and learnt to work in a variety of environments. I then joined the Kering Group, where I worked in consolidation for 5 years and then as a business analyst for 4 years. Next, I joined the Clarins Group, where I was Group Consolidation Manager for almost 4 years and then Finance Project Manager for 4 years. I have gained a lot of experience in international luxury companies and today I want to be an ambassador for the Skema Finance Club in Paris because I want to devote more time to sharing and passing on my experience at SKEMA. I spent some wonderful years there that helped shape who I am today, and I also met some of my best friends there. Now, I would like to be a link between my generation (Class of 2005) and the younger alumni.

As an ambassador, how do you plan to keep the Finance Club active and engaged? Do you have any ideas for initiatives or events you'd like to run?

To keep the club active and engaged, I would like to work with the other ambassadors of the Finance Club to organise two get-togethers in 2025.

For example, one session could be dedicated to hearing about the experiences of alumni who have worked in a variety of companies and professions, ranging from market finance to corporate finance and niche professions (e.g. wealth management).

They could talk about their successes and failures, with a view to helping and guiding their peers in the direction they would like to take their careers.

What message would you like to send to our alumni to encourage them to join and become actively involved in the Finance Club?

If you would like to be part of a community where people listen, share and help each other, to boost your career and perhaps gain more clarity on your professional future, then join the club!
