Julien Reiss-Herrault (SKEMA 2004), Ambassador of the Nantes Chapter
Could you tell us a little about your journey since graduating from SKEMA Business School and what motivated you to become an ambassador of the SKEMA Alumni Nantes Chapter?
After working for a while at the pharmaceutical company where I interned during my sandwich course, I set up an operational marketing consultancy. I then joined an IT services company specialising in social real estate. There, I set up a marketing department. This experience led me to start a business in the agri-food sector. After selling that, I was given the opportunity to work at a buying office for independent opticians. Wanting a more meaningful career, I retrained to work in the social sector. That allowed me to join the Apprentis d'Auteuil foundation, where I am now in charge of a programme to help young people improve their employability through entrepreneurship.
Becoming an ambassador for SKEMA's Nantes chapter allows me to continue on this path, helping others while developing a solid and enriching network.
As ambassador, how do you plan to bring energy and life to the Nantes chapter? Can you share any ideas for initiatives or for events you’d like to run?
I'd like to continue organising conferences and discussion forums, and I'm also planning "open days" to allow the alumni to discover different local structures.
What message would you like to send to our alumni to encourage them to join and become actively involved in the SKEMA Alumni Nantes Chapter?
The professional world is small, especially around Nantes, where companies like to deal with locals. Besides the opportunity to meet some great people, discovering local companies is always a good thing, and the multi-generational aspect of SKEMA’s Nantes chapter is a real plus.
