Amaury Dumetz (SKEMA 2019), Ambassador of the Project Management Industry Club

21 November 2024 Interview

Could you tell us a little about your journey since graduating from SKEMA Business School and what motivated you to become an ambassador of the Project Management Club?

After graduating in 2019, I spent three years consulting as a 4G/5G deployment project manager and decarbonation ambassador for Bouygues Telecom in Lille, then a year consulting as a continuous improvement project manager for Leroy Merlin, also in Lille. After working for six months as Chief Operating Officer for Jody Cavalie in Dubai, I became Senior Programme Manager for the ONE (the Office of Birth and Childhood) in Brussels in January 2025.

I became an ambassador for the Project Management Club because I wanted to share enjoyable moments with other alumni, discuss industry-related topics that I’m exposed to in my day-to-day work life, and meet people with the same interest in the field of project management. Of course, I also want to contribute to the SKEMA Alumni network.

As an ambassador, how do you plan to revitalise and energise the Project Management Club? Do you have any ideas for initiatives or events you'd like to run?

Together with Johan Mallet, the other club ambassador, I'd like to organise a series of events around project management at Projexion (a digital services company based in Lille), then focus on the topic of mega-projects at the end of the academic year. To energise the club, we'd like to be able to run some combined Paris-Brussels events.

What message would you like to send to our alumni to encourage them to join and become actively involved in the Project Management Club?

By joining the Project Management Club, you become part of a dynamic community of like-minded professionals. It's a great opportunity to expand your network and exchange best practices, all in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere.
