The “SKEMA Alumni Matinales” conference series –- a conference focusing on transition

14 October 2022 Events

The first conference in the “SKEMA Alumni Matinales” conference series, held on 15 September in simulcast across SKEMA’s three French campuses (Sophia/Lille/Greater Paris), kicked off the 2022/2023 season and focused on the theme “What education tomorrow for sustainable businesses?”.

The aim of the event was to discuss current issues such as innovation in teaching, business sustainability, and the evolution of talent. It was a wonderful opportunity to interact with the SKEMA community.

The event, hosted by the Top Management France network, enabled more than 500 alumni, partners and students to hear the testimonials of Marylene Appolonia (SKEMA 2000), Head of HR Development at Arkopharma, Olivier Dufour (SKEMA 2001), Managing Director of Page Personnel Belgium, Rami Baitieh, CEO of Carrefour France, Aymeric Poizot, Global Head of Investor Development – Country Head France, Belgium, Luxembourg at Fitch Ratings, and Audrey Koenig, CEO of Natixis Wealth Management.

The conference began with a keynote by Marine Hadengue, professor at SKEMA, Director of the World Youth Observatory, and CEO of the Arbour Foundation (Montreal, Canada), who ended her speech on this crucial question: “What kind of children are we going to leave our planet?”.

Feedback from our alumni

“I was thrilled to have had the opportunity to speak at this conference aimed at discussing current issues such as innovation in teaching, business sustainability, and the evolution of talent. These are all themes I have first-hand experience with as the head of HR development at Laboratoires Arkopharma, a company very much concerned with the challenges of the future, both in HR and sustainable development.” – Marylene Appolonia (SKEMA 2000), Head of HR Development @Arkopharma

“The conference was very enriching; the carefully selected speakers presented an innovative, balanced view of education and made us more mindful of looking at education from the perspective of the future of humanity... We now know that we don’t need to save the planet, because it will outlive us all, but rather we should pay more attention to the fate of humanity by protecting its dignity.” – Dominique R. (SKEMA 1982), Administrator @Talents Grand Paris

This event was one in a series of four conferences during which you will have the opportunity to meet expert speakers and chat with our partners, senior executives, other alumni, SKEMA staff members, but also students. (Next Matinale conference to be held in 2023. Keep a close eye on the calendar).
