An emotional day of reminiscing for the SKEMA Class of 1992’s pearl anniversary

28 November 2022 Events

On 12 November, more than 80 participants from the four corners of France and abroad gathered to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the SKEMA Class of 1992 on the Lille campus. It was a convivial and emotional reunion with plenty of reminiscing and sharing.

After being welcomed by Nathalie Hector, SKEMA’s Director of Innovation and Learner Experience, Katrina Panchout, Deputy Director of the PGE programme, and Audrey Touyon and Pierre-Henri Glantenet from the Alumni and Philanthropy Department, the Class of ‘92 (re)discovered the Euralille campus on a guided tour before learning about the evolution of the school and then attending the honorary degree conferment ceremony which, according to the alumni present, was very moving and full of surprises!

"A special moment spent reconnecting and sharing! As if it were yesterday!"

"It was my first time discovering the Euralille site and seeing the vast majority of my classmates again. It was very emotional and satisfying to see that the atmosphere was as if we’d never been apart. Thank you to the staff and students who devoted so much time to us."

The degree conferment ceremony was powerful, a rite of passage, and everyone felt involved and recognised during this anniversary. It’s a wonderful family where we can all count on one another.”

Bravo to Nathalie Seroux, the initiator and co-organiser of this event, for her invaluable help, her abundant enthusiasm, her ability to bring people together, and for the wonderful slideshow that moved the entire amphitheatre while it was being presented!
"My goal was to gather as many of the alumni as possible to spend a special moment together. It was very important that it happen with SKEMA. We discovered a school of a different dimension! When we all saw each other again in the hall, it was very emotional; there was a lot of hugging, kissing and laughing. Even though the premises weren’t the same ones we had attended, little by little, as we chatted and visited the campus, we were transported back to our 20s. The degree conferment ceremony was powerful, a rite of passage, and everyone felt involved and recognised during this anniversary. It’s a wonderful family where we can all count on one another."

Mark your calendars for June, when we will have the great pleasure of seeing you in Lille, Paris (Suresnes) or Sophia Antipolis for a key event in the life of the school: the entrance exam jury panels, which are just one of the ways you can get involved (others include mentoring or recruiting Skemans, philanthropy, etc.).
Thanks, everyone!
