Dounia Sekkat (SKEMA 2010), Ambassador of the Casablanca Chapter
Could you tell us a little about your journey since graduating from SKEMA Business School and what motivated you to become an ambassador of the SKEMA Alumni Casablanca Chapter?
Since graduating from SKEMA Business School, I've had the opportunity to build a career that has given me extensive experience in communications and public relations, both in Morocco and abroad. I worked in a number of agencies before co-founding Com&Talk Agency, a communications agency that helps brands with their media positioning and crisis management.
Getting involved as one of the chapter's ambassadors is above all a way for me to reconnect with the SKEMA community and contribute to the dynamism of the network. SKEMA has given me an international outlook and an entrepreneurial approach that I've been able to apply to my professional career. Today, I dream of re-creating synergy between SKEMA’s alumni and helping them to expand their network and increase their professional impact.
As an ambassador, how do you plan to revitalise and energise the SKEMA Alumni Casablanca Chapter? Do you have any ideas for initiatives or events you'd like to run?
The main goal is to make the chapter a real circle of exchange and professional opportunities, by focusing on the spirit of sharing and collaboration that characterises SKEMA’s alumni. To achieve this, several initiatives seem essential to me:
- Networking get-togethers - Organise after-work events and themed breakfasts where the alumni can meet, discuss their respective journeys and explore professional opportunities together.
- Alumni mentoring - Set up a programme where the more experienced alumni can support younger alums in their careers, give them advice and help them expand their network.
What message would you like to send to our alumni to encourage them to join and become actively involved in the SKEMA Alumni Casablanca chapter?
We all have the SKEMA experience in common. It has shaped the way we think, act and innovate. Today, joining the chapter isn't just about being part of a network, it's about creating opportunities together, sharing our experiences and helping each other on our professional and personal journeys.
